The Traveling Vietnam Wall, a moving version of the Vietnam Wall in Washington, D.C., is coming to South Georgia on Sept. 4-7, making a stop in Ashburn.

The Wall Committee needs pictures of James Larry Harris and Tommy Johnson for the official program for the wall’s appearance. These men are Ben Hill County veterans who were killed in Vietnam during the war. Please email pictures to WiregrassFarmer@yahoo.com.

If you cannot email the picture, please call 567-3655 and the Wall committee will make arrangements to get a copy of your picture.

As part of the appearance of the Wall, Ben Hill County will have a delegation to present a wreath for the Ben Hill County display at the Wall.

The Wall will be set up in Ashburn just off Exit 82. There is no charge to see the exhibits. No drinks, other than water, no cell phones and no music are allowed in the area immediately around the wall. Counselors and ministers will be on hand.

For more information about the Wall’s appearance, please call Ashburn City Hall at 567-3431.
