After two months of surveillance on a residence located at 123 Duck Rd. Fitzgerald, a search warrant was executed by the Ben Hill County Sheriff’s office, South Central Drug Task Force, Fitzgerald Police Department, Fitzgerald Probations and Dept. of Corrections K-9 unit.

To prevent being detected by cameras and sensors located at the residence and waiting for the main suspect to get home, the operation was conducted at night. There have been a large number of males wandering around in the yard every night with bon fires while using drugs. Sheriff’s officer knew every person that was buying and using drugs at this residence. They have been conducting surveillance using night vision equipment for many nights while drugs were being sold from the residence. According to Sheriff Bobby McLemore, a large quantity of Meth (ICE) was being sold by the ounce by the occupants at the house.

“As we entered the residence with a search warrant,” says Sheriff McLemore, “we found the owner, Anna Roberts, Joseph Reid, and Corey Snow along with Anna’s two children inside the residence. A search of the residence produced a trafficking amount of meth (ICE), a quantity of Marijuana, a white powder that tested positive for a combination of meth and cocaine (a drug called “Hard Rail”).” Two firearms were found in the residence. Also $4,112 in U.S. currency was seized from Roberts’ vehicle along with some Hard Rail.

Anna Allen Roberts, 34, of 123 Duck Rd. was arrested and charged with the following: possession of tools for commission of a crime, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, cruelty to children, and possession of drug related objects.

Corey Blake Snow, 23, of 10 Middle St. Rome, was arrested and charged with the following: possession of tools for commission of a crime, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects, trafficking of methamphetamine, possession of firearm during commission of a crime, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and cruelty to children. Joseph Tyler Reid, 29, of 123 Duck Rd. was arrested and charged with the following: possession of tools for commission of a crime, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of drug related objects.

“This raid will remove a large amount of drug sales from Ben Hill County and the surrounding area,” says Sheriff McLemore. “We also know the other people who was selling from this residence and more arrests may be forthcoming. The children were present during the sale of drugs and drugs being used at the residence. Anna Roberts was also arrested in May of 2014 for the same types of charges and is presently out on bond awaiting trial. She won’t be eligible for a new bond on the new charges. Joseph Reid is currently on probation in Dodge County and also will not be eligible for a bond on these charges.”

“Drug dealers don’t last long in Ben Hill County before they are arrested,” the Sheriff continues. “We know very shortly after they start and it takes a little time for us to build our case and get a search warrant, but make no mistake, we will be there to get you.”
