Ben Hill County Receives ACCG Health Grant
 
Ben Hill County was recently awarded the ACCG – Group Health Program Health Promotion & Wellbeing Grant by ACCG, Georgia’s County Association.

Ben Hill County is one of 44 members to receive this grant based on its commitment to employee health and demonstrated collaboration with other community groups and organizations engaged in health promotion. Currently 90 counties and other authorities participate in the ACCG – Group Health Benefit Program.

“Our county has been selected for this award year-after-year”, said Ben Hill County Chairman Philip C. Jay, III. “Wellness programs help improve employee health and quality of life, while reducing medical claims and improving workplace morale. We are proud of everything our employees do for the citizens of Ben Hill County, and want to encourage them to be well and healthy.”
 

 
Ben Hill County Receives CDGB Grant
 
Ben Hill County has been selected to receive a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). These grants are highly-competitive.

The funds will be used for a street paving, curb and gutter, and storm drainage program. It includes 0.37 miles of Ashton Way, and 0.523 miles of St. John’s Road. The project will pave the roads for 27 homes.
