New Flashing Caution Lights Begin Operation Thursday at SR 90 Intersection

What: New advanced warning ground-mounted flashing caution lights are scheduled to be activated at state Route 90 and Lower Rebecca Road. The new lights will replace the overhead flashers.

The flashers are part of a Georgia Department of Transportation intersection safety upgrade that includes relocating stop bars, installing advanced warning signs and installing new and larger stop signs. In addition, Ben Hill County installed rumble strips on Lower Rebecca Road.

Motorists are advised to remember that SR 90 traffic does not stop and caution should be used when approaching the intersection.

Where: Thursday, Feb. 19. The flashers are expected to be activated between 9 a.m. and noon.

When: SR 90 at Lower Rebecca Road, Fitzgerald.
